Brooklyn Bridge Trip

by Jack D., Grade VI
In November the sixth grade went to Brooklyn to learn about the Battle of Brooklyn.

We first took the subway to the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge.  As we walked from the subway station to the entrance of the bridge, we passed by historical places that we had studied at school.  We walked all the way across the Brooklyn Bridge and stopped along the way to see where the Battle of Brooklyn took place.

When we arrived in Manhattan, we went to Fraunces Tavern to eat lunch.  This is the same place where Washington made his farewell address.  We had lots of fun and are so thankful that Mr. Landesman and Mr. Moraitis took us on this trip.  We can’t wait for our trip to Gettysburg and West Point after this awesome field trip.
