The Great Skate

The annual St. Bernard’s family skating party was held on January 28. Known as “the Great Skate,” this event is always popular with the boys (and their families too).

This year, roughly 650 people made the trek into Central Park to Wollman Rink.  New features this year were a pair of professional ice skaters in brand-new St. Bernard dog costumes and the addition of tater tots to a menu that any kid would love.

It was a beautiful January night and the event went off without a hitch.  Despite a few bumps and bruises, our boys couldn’t have been happier, skating alongside their coaches, teachers, and their beloved headmaster.  A ton of work went into this event, and many thanks are due to the members of the Great Skate committee, Susie A., Lisa H., Rema P., Megan R., and Evangeline S.
