Kindergarten's Dinosaurs

My dog ate my homework is the classic student excuse.  Some kindergarten boys might actually have to worry about hungry pets eating their dinosaur projects when they take them home.  Over the years kindergarten teacher Ms. Milstead has heard about more than one dog eating incident with these creations, which are made out of real bones (mostly chicken) leftover from meals at home that parents boiled and cleaned before bringing into school.

Each kindergartener created his skeletal-like creature one-on-one with a teacher.  After selecting one dinosaur of his choice, he learned about its specific characteristics so he could recreate it and its habitat with accuracy.

“Don’t hang them on the fridge,” Ms. Milstead warned her students.  The danger of displaying their fossil friends in tempting reach of a hungry house pet is a concern.  A great keepsake and conversation piece, Ms. Roberts recommended that the boys frame their awesome 3-D projects in shadow boxes.
