On April 5, 2013, St. Bernard’s celebrated its eighth annual Multicultural Fair by featuring two of the world’s great cultures: Ireland and Pakistan.
The festivities started with the morning assembly as we were all treated with historical presentations for each country. Some fun facts: we learned that 500 years before the Egyptian Pyramids were built, Newgrange, Ireland, was created. It is considered the eighth wonder of the world. We also learned that more footballs (American soccer balls) are made in Pakistan than in any other country. Pakistan is the official supplier of the FIFA tournaments. But the highlights of the morning included live performances of a couple of Irish folk songs and some high-energy Pakistani dancing.
After assembly the grades took turns participating in the fair being held in the transformed medium gym. Feel free to browse the photo gallery to see the boys participate in the many hands-on exhibits. Our thanks to Geraldine C., James C., Monica G., Nyla I., Haya Z., and their many volunteers for an informative and entertaining day.
