Luncheon for Mothers of Junior Old Boys

In a place filled with traditions there are not too many “firsts” at St. B’s, but on February 27 the mothers of Junior Old Boys gathered for our first (annual?) luncheon sponsored by the school.  Dr. Christine Frissora was the driving force behind the event and she envisioned an occasion to gather the mothers of our most recent graduates.  The group of approximately forty (mothers with sons in the classes of 2009, 2010, and 2011) was treated to a delightful talk by Julie Kent, a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater.  Ms. Kent dispelled a myth or two about life as a ballerina (“I can assure you I have never met anyone of the like portrayed in the movie Black Swan”), talked about her own challenges of being a professional dancer and a mother of two, and conveyed the importance of an education which included performing arts.

Everyone enjoyed seeing each other again; many for the first time in years.  We would like to thank Christine Frissora for making the arrangements and to Julie Kent for her inspiring words.
