50th Reunion for the Class 1971

Kate Fiscus, Director of Old Boys
On Saturday, October 16, we welcomed back the Class of 1971 in honor of their 50th year reunion.

Months of planning led to a full schedule of events with every detail meant to bring back memories of life at St. B’s.  The reunion day began when Mr. Moraitis rang the school bell and welcomed Old Boys inside the small gym for coffee and pastries.  After a brief update on this current academic year, attendees posed for a group photo and browsed items from the archives.  Many Old Boys had not seen each other since June of 1971!

A school tour gave reunion attendees an opportunity to reflect on the past and appreciate the many traditions still in place at St. Bernard’s since their graduation.  Lines from A Midsummer Night’s Dream were recited in the David King-Wood Theater and classmates took photos alongside honor boards bearing their names as we made our way back to the first floor.  The Class of 1971 was dismissed for the day, off to enjoy a generous lunch in a classmate’s home (complete with shepherd’s pie on the menu), and later a dinner at The Links, where no doubt, storytelling lasted late into the evening.
