St. B's in California

by Dean Kripalani

A small contingent from St. Bernard’s, including Stuart Johnson and our director of communications Ginny Moore, made its bi-annual visit to California last week.  Our first stop on the west coast was graciously hosted by Ann and Robert Devens in their lovely San Francisco house.  Over thirty guests, including Old Boys representing every decade since the 1940s, enjoyed the usually warm and pleasant evening as the crowd spilled into the backyard.  The celebratory atmosphere continued the next day in Los Angeles at the beautiful house of Sara and Mario Rodriguez.  A pianist and giant St. Bernard’s-themed balloons greeted about the guests as they gathered around the pool in the ideal weather for an outdoor party.  In San Francisco there was a bit more talk about technology and in L.A. we chatted more about the movie industry, but in both places we were happy to see that our west coast constituency is happy, healthy, and thriving.  Many thanks to all of our Old Boys, past parents, grandparents, and in one case, incoming kindergarten parents, who were able to join us during our stopover, and of course our accommodating hosts.  We look forward to keeping in touch with St. Bernard’s West.
