Speakers Bureau: Careers in the World of Sports
The topic for the second Speakers Bureau of the year was a subject near and dear to the hearts of many of our boys: careers in the world of sports. We were lucky to have the following members on our panel: Bob Goetz, a former sports editor at The New York Times; Mark Janssens, a former professional hockey player; David Kraft ’86, a producer at ESPN; Scott Neff, head of development at Pre Play Sports and a former St. B’s teacher; and Scott Rodeo, associate team physician for the New York Giants and one of a team of doctors who will take care of athletes at the London Olympics. Our guests spoke about their personal experiences, sports figures they most admire, and the ups and downs of their professions. Many boys came with their parents and a highlight for grownups and boys alike was seeing Dr. Rodeo’s Super Bowl ring.
