Junior Old Boy Mothers Gathering

On Wednesday, April 10, a group of over 80 mothers of Junior Old Boys gathered at the River Club for cocktails, hors d’oeuvre, and a wonderful speech from Cynthia McFadden, NBC’s senior legal and investigative correspondent and mother of Spencer Hoge ’13.  The group consisted of mothers of boys who graduated between 2006 and 2013.  They spent hours reminiscing about their time at St. B’s and sharing stories of where their sons are now.  Ms. McFadden delivered witty and heartfelt stories about being a mother, the occasional challenges of being a working mom, and the unique and perfect fit St. Bernard’s was for her son.  Her story of accidentally delivering a box of rotten pumpkins to class in an attempt to ingratiate herself with Ms. Loree drew laughter from the crowd, and her sincere appreciation of the foundation for learning that St. Bernard’s provided for her son was met with nods of agreement.  Many thanks to Ms. McFadden for giving us her time and wisdom, and a huge thank you to Dr. Christine Frissora, who helped make this event possible, and to our director of Old Boys, Elizabeth Tobin, for organizing the party.
