IV Russell's Lesson on the Passover Seder

On Friday, April 11, Alina W., mother of Old Boy Adam W. ’13 and fourth grader Gregory W., led a thirty-minute Passover Seder in IV Russell to educate the boys on a traditional practice of the Jewish faith.  First she had the boys push their desks together to create one big table for the entire class.  Around the table the boys took turns reading aloud from the Haggadah, text that sets forth the order of the Passover Seder, from the illustrated books that Mrs. W. provided, and they enacted the traditional seder steps.  As instructed, the boys relaxed and reclined while drinking apple cider and eating matzo crackers.  The role of the child’s questioning was given to the youngest boy in the room, Aiden E.  Mr. Russell had the honor of hiding half of the matzah for dessert.  Zeno D. won candy for discovering the hidden matzah under a box of tissues.  Thank you, Mrs. W., for the enjoyable lesson on the Passover Seder.
