Carols

Our Christmas Carols service was held unusually late this year; the last day of school was December 22.
This gave the morning an especially festive feel, as the city had reached its peak of holiday merriment. This also meant that the church was filled to the brim with Old Boys already on their holiday breaks, relatives in from out of town, grandparents, and sisters already off from school.

The program hardly changes from year to year, but this year’s standouts included a particularly good rendition of “Pray God Bless” (sung in the round), Vivaldi’s “Allegro” from L’Inverno from the string orchestra, and fourth grader pianist Andrew Lun and Mr. Risinger playing the four-hand arrangement of “Ding Dong Merrily on High.”

Many thanks to Ms. Fertel, Mr. Risinger, Madame Boyer-Robert, and Mr. Jacala for their direction, and to Church of the Heavenly Rest for their hospitality.
