Student Faculty Basketball Game 2018
Sunshine filled the seventh floor gym on Wednesday afternoon, February 21, as Coach Miceli welcomed everyone to the annual Student-Faculty basketball game.
The game was too close to call from tip-off to final buzzer, but ultimately the eighth and ninth grade boys found redemption in a 59-57 victory over the faculty as the two teams met for this year’s rematch. Fast-paced and with very few fouls until, of course, the final two minutes, the action never waned, and spirits were at a constant high.
Teamwork was the name of the game as all boys had an equal share of court time ̶ contributing shots, three-pointers, assists, and free throws, and providing big-time defense. Faculty-Staff newcomers Benson, Jensen, and Jacala were welcomed reinforcements for veterans Moraitis, Silver, White, Rodriguez, Demeny, Hill, Landesman, and St. Clair, who appreciated the new depth of their bench.
MVPs go to our St. Bernard mascots, ninth graders Lars K., Topher S., and George W., who infused the crowds with roaring energy and cheerful enthusiasm. Plans are already underway for next year’s game!
