Old Boys Dinner 2018

On Thursday, January 18, 2018, the Old Boys gathered for the 102nd Old Boys Dinner.  Over two hundred Old Boys returned to St. Bernard’s to walk through the hallways, reminisce, and see the friendly faces of their childhood friends and former teachers.

The evening began with a special presentation of the Back to the Classroom program, in which Mr. Bowcock shared highlights from his year of volunteering with the Cambodian Children’s Fund.  Old Boys of all ages arrived early to hear about Mr. Bowcock’s experiences and were greatly impressed by the presentation.  As they made their way down to the Small Gym they stopped to admire Honor Boards and peek into classrooms.

Old Boys came from far and wide for this special evening.  Mark Linder ’66 traveled from Finland, and Maury Pinto ’47 traveled from London for the occasion.  The classes of 1994, 2004, and 2007 boasted the largest number of boys from their classes in attendance.  The class of 2009 was thrilled to attend the famous Old Boys dinner for the first time.  It was a milestone year for members of the class of 1993, who celebrated their 25th reunion.  The class of 1968 also had much to celebrate on the occasion of their 50th reunion.  The oldest Old Boy in attendance was Charles Kinsolving ’40.  He enjoyed chatting with other Old Boys from the 1940s and 1950s.

Thanks to Chef Wells and Cater to You, the Old Boys enjoyed a delicious dinner and fabulous cocktails.  Cigars were cut and lit, school songs were sung around the piano and throughout the school, and a good time was had by all.

Special thanks to the class custodes who helped gather their classmates.  Many thanks to St. B’s Maintenance Department and to Mr. Rodridguez for working tirelessly to make each Old Boys Dinner a success.

With only 356 days remaining until the next Old Boys Dinner, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the Old Boys who joined us this year and made the evening of January 18 so memorable.
