Highlights from the 2019 Track Season

by Coach Hill
The 2019 St. Bernard’s track teams worked hard, had fun, and did very well in their respective competitions.

The Junior Varsity team included eighteen boys from the fifth and sixth grades.  They competed at three meets vying against ten other schools at Macombs Dam Park.  Team members put forth their best efforts in the Individual 100, 200, and 400 meter races, and the 100, 200, and 400 meter relays.  Unfortunately the final meet was rained out and could not be rescheduled.

The Varsity team had thirteen boys from seventh and eighth grades.  The team competed in seven meets against twenty other schools at Icahn Stadium with the Gotham Games being the grand finale.  Highlights of the finals included Daniel B. placing first overall in the 200 Meter Individual and third in the 100 Meter Individual, Anderson P. placing second in the 800 Individual Meter, and Owen C. placing fourth overall in the 800 Individual.  The boys displayed team camaraderie and worked hard throughout the season.

We are immensely proud of every member of the 2019 St. Bernard’s Varsity and Junior Varsity track teams.  We look forward to celebrating their future track and field successes at St. Bernard’s and beyond.
