Sports Day 2014

On May 29, St. Bernard’s School held its annual Sports Day in Central Park.  The weather was gorgeous:  sunny, dry, with temperatures in the lower 60s; it could not have been better for races, relays, and athletic completion.  The activities were designed to provide maximum participation for as many boys as possible.  Boys in the Junior School competed as teams made up by their class.  In the upper grades, boys competed in class teams and as individuals.  Sports Day concluded with a ribbon ceremony.  Bragging rights continued off the fields as well.  This year the faculty boasted that they dominated Grade IX in the tug-of-war, and Nurse Weinstein was pleased that she only had to dispense one band-aid all day.
