Commencement 2014

On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, St. Bernard’s celebrated the commencement of the 2013-2014 school year.  Thirty-six eighth graders were graduated as Old Boys of the class of 2014.  Seven of them will continue their studies at St. Bernard’s in Grade IX, and twenty-nine boys will attend day and boarding schools next school year.  The ceremony also honored eleven ninth grade boys who completed their tenures at St. Bernard’s.

Mr. Johnson encouraged the boys to keep in touch and to visit St. Bernard’s.  Alison W., mother of two St. Bernard’s boys, delivered the commencement address about the top ten lessons and edifications specific to a St. Bernard’s education that she hopes the graduates will appreciate and carry with them.  Charlotte K., St. Bernard’s mother and past president of the Parents Association, presented prizes for academic, athletic, and leadership achievements, and the president of the board of trustees Craig Huff presented St. Bernard’s shields to the graduates.  As is tradition the ceremony concluded with the singing of the Old Boys’ Song and with the newest Old Boys shaking hands with the faculty.

Congratulations to all of our students for completing St. Bernard’s 110th school year, and many thanks to all of their teachers, coaches, staff, parents, and friends for their roles in making it a great one.  We look forward to another fine year to come, but first, we wish everyone an enjoyable and healthful summer!
